Registered Clinical Counsellor #22422
About
Welcome, I'm Liz. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#22422) and an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist in Whistler.
I work with children and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic distress. I also provide culturally attuned therapy for communities of colour and immigrant populations.
If you are interested in therapy, I look forward to working with you.
More about me
I am also a professional geographer by trade. I spent years mapping countries and neighbourhoods and the movement of different populations. As a clinical counsellor, I have become interested in mapping the emotions and feelings in our bodies.
When we feel anxious, for instance, where in our bodies do we feel that anxiety? What if we could locate it, address it, and work together to find ways to calm it? The mental and emotional maps of our bodies matter. They are our geography closest in.
We each arrive at therapy with a unique set of questions, and I look forward to exploring the forms of treatment that best suit your needs. If you’re here, you’ve taken the hardest step … let’s walk a bit further together to see how I can help.

Group Therapy Workshops
I offer one-day group workshops, specifically tailored to help children and adolescents manage stress and anxiety. I draw upon psycho-education, mindfulness techniques, and art therapy to demonstrate how young people can build mental and emotional skills, and strength-based coping strategies for navigating early life challenges. Please inquire for further details.
Group Therapy
I offer co-facilitated support groups specific to BIPOC clients. Topics and themes include: coping with racism and micro-aggressions, exploring racial and ethnic identities, and intergenerational conflict. Please send me an email if this is of interest to you.
My services are offered in English and Korean.
